MAN DIES THREE TIMES IN ONE NIGHT!

A puzzling headline begins a front-page article found in the Times of London. Three men, all identical in identification, were found dead in the same room of the Chelsea Arms Hotel. All were dispatched in a similar manner—stabbed through the heart.

At the same time a disparate group of men and women find themselves in the British capital, invited to attend a sophisticated and erudite gala by an old and trusted friend, Professor Julius Smith. Shortly afterward, these individuals are woken by an odd summons which leads to a surreptitious meeting and the beginning of a thousand mile-journey on the most legendary rail service of the age. They find themselves bound for Constantinople and wrapped up in an unsettling mystery that spans time and geography both. With perseverance they will reach their destination, but only with luck will they return home safely.
